Position: Lead Security Installation Technician

This role is responsible for supporting the Service and Project Management Teams delivering Edgeworth Integration new projects and servicing existing clients. The Lead Technician will be responsible for providing service, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting/diagnostics on access control, video management, intrusion detection equipment, and IP based video systems including but not limited to: electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems and intercom systems

Location: Simi Valley Area, California
Travel: Outside of the Simi Valley office location, individuals should expect to travel within the SoCal region. We provide a vehicle and fuel. All applicants must have a clean driving record.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, test, repair, and service a substantial variety of systems and equipment which may include CCTV, access control & intrusion systems. Technician is the key interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Assignments are broad in nature and may require a high level of ingenuity and proficiency.
  • Reads complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements; Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using advanced test instruments and hand tools.
  • Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions.
  • Performs all work in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • Advises management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestions for product improvements.
  • Executes all the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including, preparation of project deliverables such as submittals/shop drawings/training documentation, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and on-going technical support.
  • Works closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assists in the overall coordination of specific projects.
  • Uses technical knowledge, skills and experience while mentoring and training less experienced staff. May supervise workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance. Provides performance feedback on other technicians to Senior Install and Service Manager.

Misc other tasks include:

    • Configuring and setting up servers, cameras, speakers and switches.
    • Programming antennas.
    • Pulls and terminates cables.
    • Collecting important technical information about sites. ( IP, MAC, serial numbers , models and locations).
    • Entering data into system surveyor and other Edgeworth databases.
    • Providing technical supports for clients.
    • Quality assurance / quality control.
    • Participate in various project and team meetings.
    • Perform safety meetings on site.
    • Miscellaneous database entry.
    • Special Assignments as assigned by Senior Install & Service Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of security systems.
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of various security systems, including cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and fire alarms.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to lead and manage a team of technicians.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, contractors, and team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Familiarity and/or formal certification with Avigilon, Milestone, Panasonic, Axis, Bosch, CCure 9000, GE, Lenel, ONSSI, Pelco, Salient, and Software House; Equipment is a plus
