Overview: The Area Security Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing security operations within an office building, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all occupants and assets. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Security Agent to manage access control and respond to emergencies at a corporate office building. As the sole security agent on duty, this role requires a self-starter who can work independently and handle a range of responsibilities, from greeting visitors to monitoring CCTV and ensuring only authorized individuals enter the building. This position requires strong communication skills for effective interaction with building management and Edgeworth Security.
Essential Job Function and Responsibilities:
- Access Control: Monitor and control access to the building, greeting staff and visitors professionally while verifying identification and authorization.
- Emergency Response: Act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations, responding quickly and appropriately to incidents.
- Surveillance: Monitor CCTV and security systems to ensure a safe and secure environment for all occupants.
- Monitor security systems and review security reports, ensuring timely response to incidents, alarms, or other security threats.
- Incident Reporting: Accurately document any security incidents, completing detailed reports to be shared with both building management and Edgeworth Security.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with upper management and Edgeworth Security, reporting any concerns or security needs promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience in a security role, preferably in a corporate or office setting.
- Certification: Level 3 or 4 Texas Security Certification.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with security technology, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail in report writing.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on professionalism and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs may occur.
- Capability to respond quickly in emergencies, including running, jumping, and navigating stairs or multiple floors.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Schedule: Full-time, flexible hours to include possible evenings and weekends based on security needs.
- Compensation: Salary of $50,000 per year based on experience.
